FUNCUBE - AO 73
After a long period characterized by launches of academic satellites with the payload full of childish scientific experiments failed by start and radio beacons transmitting in ham bands (legality is still up for discussion), finally we have in orbit, three "birds" carrying hamradio radio communications transporders.
- 145.935 MHz BPSK Telemetry 300 mW or 30 mW When the transponder has been activated
- Inverting SSB / CW transponder 300mW PEP
- 435150-435130 MHz Uplink
- 145950-145970 MHz Downlink
Funcube by PA3WEG
FUNcube-1 carries transponder with bandwidth of 20 kHz for SSB and CW communications. To reduce the Doppler shift the transponder is inverting, meaning that the lower sideband (LSB) signal on the uplink comes out as upper sideband (USB) signal on the downlink.
A two-way contact was made between GB3RS and G0AUK who worked each other at 10:53 UT. Both stations operating from famouse Bletchley Park (Ground Station headquarters), car park, each running 5 watts PEP to Arrow antennas.
G6LVB and M0XTD
Ciaran Morgan M0XTD captured the entire downlink passband during the pass on a Microsoft Surface Tablet using a FUNcube Dongle Pro+ SDR connected to an Elk dual-band antenna.
